The Plastic Covered Sofa Series

The "Ancestral Story Series," launching February 2024, takes viewers on a captivating journey through the personal and historical narratives of Black Interior Designers Inc members in collaboration with Duke Renders. This series aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage embedded in ancestral Black homes while exploring these designers' profound connections with their roots.

“Within the walls of the black home lies a sacred space, a sanctuary of safety and resilience. The preservation and care of this space has always been essential for the healing, growth, and evolution of the Black family. Each plastic-covered sofa is a symbol of protection and reverence. It embodies the deep-rooted desire to maintain traditions, memories, and the enduring legacy of a resilient community.”
